Counseling is a lot like traveling. You have the place you are coming from and you have the place you want to go. There are always so many ways to travel. Some faster, others scenic and others economical. In my counseling I try to combine the best parts of all three. Maybe you are just beginning to consider where you'd like to go? Or maybe you just need help figuring out how to get to where you want to go? Perhaps you are getting back on the road after veering off for some time.

Regardless, I see myself as your psychological travel agent. Patience is the most important quality in any journey and your counseling with me will have plenty of it. No one likes a traveling companion who stops for nothing. Each of our lives have many sights to see and memories to visit. With space, gentleness and compassion, we will explore the roads of your life together.

What do you specialize in is a question that counselors get asked a lot.

My approach to counseling and psychology makes me uniquely capable to work with many different kinds of people. In my years of working with individuals, families and couples I have found that many people's struggles come down to the same fundamental issues. Their purpose, their identity and their beliefs. Purpose and identity is a universal need of every human, if we don’t have one our nature is to seek one out. Many of us experience all kinds of hardships because we have a lack of clarity about who we are and what are purpose in life is. Which is why discovering them can be one of the most life changing experiences that people can have.

Beliefs are intimately connected to the first two but differ because they are more the foundation of who we are. What do you believe about life, love, relationships, marriage or money? Have you ever taken an inventory of what you actually believe? Which beliefs are helping you and which are hurting you? One of my passions is helping people to discover what they believe and which of those beliefs are healthy and which are not.

To finish with our analogy on road trips, I am not a Ferrari but I will steadily move you along, and I try to always obey the speed limit. So if you kind of feel like an abandon trailer and you really need a hitch, counseling is probably for you. I personally like seeing my office as an emotional U-Haul. You have plenty of stuff you want to move, you just need the right equipment and help to get you to where you want to go!
